Bailey is doing her exercises….

We are actually having decent weather where we are and me and Bailey are trying to loose some of our extra winter weight! haha! We are walking for one hour each day and enjoying it. Bailey of course has to stop almost every five seconds to sniff or leave her mark. That really doesn’t help our exercise program but I guess some walking is better than none. She also has the annoying habit of thinking that she can attack moving vehicles as they pass us while we are walking down the sidewalk. crazy dog! I am always pulling her back with her leash. I am also afraid that it might break and she will spring into traffic. oh no I hope that never happens!

bailey can be annoying sometimes…

Bailey the dog has this annoying habit of following me around all day long. Sometimes I don’t care but other times I want to scream. I was cleaning the house today and she was following me everywhere. I am in an apartment so it is not that big. everytime I turned around she was under my feet and I would step on her or almost step on her. My poor baby! She would yelp because I stepped on her foot. Get out of the way Bailey! I know I said this a million times today. I don’t know if I have spoiled her terribly or if she is terribly lonely and wants attention. What do u think? When I go to the bathroom she sits on a rug in front of me and watches me. Yuck! My dog is a perv. Even when I am taking a shower she stands guard on that rug and waits until I get out. Just stands there… I love my dog but she is driving me nuts. Bailey can be annoying sometimes…..

Is Your Vet The Right Match for you and your pet?

I have just moved into my area about 3 months ago. I picked my vet off the internet because I had to board Bailey and it was a spur of the moment thing. I had a death and needed to get back to Va to attend it. Of course they wanted to make sure she had all her updated shots and stuff so I had to take her for that. I wasn’t really happy with this vet but really didn’t have a choice because of last minute things to do.  The next time I had to take Bailey to this vet was because of her snoring. Instead of concentrating on the snoring problem this vet started telling me other things that needed to be done for and to bailey. He said he couldn’t do anything about the snoring. I was very upset about this. He wanted to charge me for lab work and medication and so on and so on. I told him the reason I came in was to help her with her snoring or to stop it and I denied the other treatments. There was nothing else wrong with bailey, the guy just wanted to make money off of me because he saw the opportunity. I am very angry with this situation and I recommend a few things that I didn’t do so that you will not be taken by a scum of a vet.

• word of mouth is a great way to find a vet in your area
• ask pet stores if they know of a vet that is good
• make sure the office hours work for you and your pet
• when calling the offices ask them about their policies and their rates so you are not surprise after the visit
• if the office staff is not friendly don’t go there. this is a reflection of how the office is run
• make sure the vet is personable
• if the vet seems in a hurry then don’t go again. they are probably trying to make as much money as they can in a day
• make sure the office is clean. you don’t want your pet to go in healthy and come out sick from other dogs

Basically if you are not comfortable with your vet don’t keep going back just because you are used to it. A vet for your pet is just like a doctor to you. If you don’t like your doctor do you still go? No! You find a new one. Think about that when looking for a good match for your pet.

Bailey the dog is content to lay in my lap for the new year celebration. I guess dogs don’t really care about things like that. Hope that this year is a good one to come for bailey.

Bailey did the most disgusting thing today….

Today I was out with Bailey and we were walking and she was doing her business. Well I turned my back for one second and the next thing I know Bailey was eating another dog’s poop. I pulled her away and told her “no mam”. That is what I say to her when she does something bad. well anyways I cant believe that she did that. She has never done anything like that before not even when she was a pup. I dont know what made her do it. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen……Today was not a good day for bailey. Now everytime she wants to cuddle or sit in my lap all I can think of is her eating poop! yuck!
