Chocolate……a dog killer
December 10, 2006 at 7:19 pm | In Blogroll, Life, daily life, dogs | Leave a CommentGiving your dog any chocolate could lead to death. Why? Because chocolate contains Theobromine, which is a stimulant found in the cocoa bean. This increases urination, effects the nervous system and the heart muscle.
What if your dog has gotten into your stash of chocolate? Here are some signs to look for:
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- hypertension
After a period of time these will be the symptoms:
- heart rate increase
- extreme hyperactivity
- uncontrollable urination
- restlessness
- muscle twitching
- excessive panting
All of these can lead to hypothermia, seizures, comas, or even death.
Do you wonder How much is too much? Just say that any is too much and do not take that chance no matter how much your dog is begging for it. It is just not worth the life of your dog.
